About the Artist
Tom Schumacher
Tom is an oil painting artist from Lynnwood, Washington. He is originally from Dubuque, Iowa and has been in the Northwest for over 30 years now since moving in 1989. His daytime job is at The Boeing Company in Manufacturing Engineering where he has 24 years of service. Tom’s other artistic outlet is with his band Random Generator where he has been playing drums for over 24 years.
As a child Tom loved to draw and be artistic, but he was originally inspired (like many) to paint by the master landscape painter Bob Ross in the late 1990s. However, he stopped shortly after that when his life got busier. In 2017 he picked up the paintbrush again and began painting subjects that inspired him. This time with more passion and seriousness towards becoming a more serious “artist”. Since then, Tom has done numerous commission paintings of animals and people while also being inspired by his travels and the beautiful scenery here in the Northwest and beyond. Tom has moved well beyond the Bob Ross style paintings and has developed his own styles and techniques to create life-like paintings people will enjoy in their homes.
